In the year that saw COP26 take place in Glasgow, we saw our our clients across the world reduce their carbon emission in the race to reach net zero. While the pandemic brought lows such as lockdowns, we worked to create significant impacts through lots of small, positive actions. 3,293,655 of them, to be exact!
New programmes
Last year we launched our first region-wide programme, with organisations working collaboratively to create positive change across one locality. Green Rewards was launched by nine local authorities in Nottingham, they linked up with two pre-existing programmes with Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham. The combined efforts of individuals across Nottingham resulted in 271,369 positive actions logged. Which resulted in 499,114kg of CO2 avoided in the programme’s first year– with much more to come!
We also launched a brand new product, the Net Zero Challenge (NZC). NZC is a digital programme where organisations can compete to reduce their carbon footprint. This platform includes sector-specific leader boards so users can see how their competitors are doing! To date, NZC users have avoided 20,011kg of CO2, completed 2384 meat-free days and enjoyed 1,224,962 minutes of wellbeing activities!
New integrations and innovations to reach net zero
In 2021, we launched exciting integrations and innovations on our platform. This includes partnering with Strava and Fitbit, so that users can integrate their fitness apps. Developments such as these helped our programmes clock up an impressive 1,224,962 sustainably travelled miles. Both through using public transport, and our users running, cycling, and walking. Resulting in massive results for their health and the planet.
New topics were also on the agenda, as we launched our first dedicated biodiversity programme with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. ‘WilderGlos’ encourages Gloucestershire residents to take actions such as helping a hedgehog or creating a wildlife pond. This is all thanks to the flexibility of our platform, meaning it can be customised needs, and aims.
New countries
Last year, one of our global banking clients expanded their ‘Go Green’ programme to their India and North America employees. We developed bespoke activities relevant for employees in these different regions by considering different cultural norms, behaviours, and languages; as well as providing local rewards.
New highs
In 2021, we reached new heights of sustainability success. Including a combined 4,666,011 kg of CO2 avoided across our programmes. This is the same amount as 4,732 return flights from London to New York! Energy related actions saw the same kWh of electricity saved as powering 620,109 homes for a day. In addition, through our programmes we donated £18,205 to charity, and our average client saved themselves £87,150.
