Our Behaviour Change Model: Creating Sustainable Change

At Jump, we pride ourselves on being behaviour change experts. Our platforms are built around a proven Behaviour Change Model, developed from extensive research and over a decade of hands-on experience in employee engagement. This model consists of six interconnecting strands that facilitate permanent behaviour change, focusing on motivation, capability, and opportunity.

“At Jump, we believe that people have the power to build a better world, so throughout 2023 we expanded our reach to more than 10,000 new people. These users have avoided 380,000 kilograms of waste, 5.5 million kilograms of CO2 emissions, and saved 2.6 million kilowatt-hour of energy.”

User Feedback: Positive Attitudes and Routine Sustainability Actions

In 2023, Jump surveyed 1,926 programme users on our sustainable behaviours since using the Jump platform. The findings revealed a 29% increase in member attitudes towards sustainability. What’s more, is that after 2 years of subscription, members showed a 12% increase in positive attitudes, when compared to new users, showing how sustainability becomes ingrained over the long-term. Lastly, 80% of users agreed that they are now more aware of their impact on the environment, and 72% stated that sustainability actions have become part of their routine.

Client Satisfaction: High Service Support Score

Jump also surveyed our clients in 2023 and received an average service support satisfaction score of 4.3 out of 5. This high score reflects the effectiveness of Jump’s programmes and the level of support we provide to our clients.

2023 Milestones: Making a Difference

Throughout 2023, Jump achieved several significant milestones. We successfully avoided 5.5 million kilograms of CO2 emissions, engaged over 84,000 users across our platforms, and facilitated 4.5 million positive actions towards sustainability. Additionally, our users donated £16,950 to charity, further contributing to our mission of creating a better world.

Impact Data: Saving Energy, Reducing Waste, and Empowering Communities

Jump’s impact in 2023 extended beyond numbers. Our users collectively saved 2.6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, travelled 5.1 million miles sustainably, logged 6.1 million minutes of exercise, and avoided 380,000 kilograms of waste. These actions resulted in powering 256,000 homes for a day. The carbon emissions saved by Jump’s users in 2023 were equivalent to the carbon removed by 123,563 tree seedlings grown for 10 years, according to calculations by the EPA.

Net Zero Challenge Impact: Racing Towards Net-Zero

Net Zero Challenge, Jump’s non-bespoke product, continued to make a significant impact in 2023. Businesses participating in this programme raced to reach net-zero emissions. The challenge resulted in saving 13,911 kilowatt-hours of electricity, logging 5,598 minutes of exercise, avoiding 44,557 kilograms of CO2 emissions, and powering 1,394 homes for a day.

Bespoke Programmes: Tailored Solutions for Unique Organizations

Jump recognized that no two organizations are the same. In 2023, we developed several bespoke programmes to meet the specific needs of our clients. One notable example is the staff and student engagement programme at the University of Greenwich. This programme provided students with access to post-graduate career resources and supported staff training by encouraging them to evaluate how their work contributes to sustainability. The University of Greenwich’s programme included various activities aimed at making work sustainable, offering sustainability training courses, helping students choose a career path, and supporting a gardening project.

“With the rollout of new features on our platform, it is easier than ever before for people to be rewarded for building a better world. Whether it’s by using our new carbon calculator, social integrations, or activity feed, there are now more ways than ever to engage with sustainable activities.”

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust: Enhancing Sustainability in Healthcare

Jump also rolled out new features to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s ‘GRASP Rewards’ programme as part of our SBRI funding. Here are some of the features that we are rolling out over the course of 2024.

Carbon Calculator: Understanding Personal and Work-based Impact

Jump developed the world’s first carbon calculator that considers both personal and work-based activities. By answering a few key questions, users gain knowledge about their carbon footprint and receive actionable steps to improve it.

Smart Integrations: Seamless Communication and Reminders

Jump’s platform integrates seamlessly with popular employee communication tools like Teams and Slack. Users can now receive and share reminders for their activities via their digital workspace communities, ensuring they never forget to take sustainable actions.

Activity Feed: Real-time Inspiration and Interaction

The new Activity Feed displays actions and activities taken by members in real-time, providing inspiration and motivation. This social element enhances behaviour change effectiveness, as it encourages interaction and support within the community.

Role Personalisation: Relevant Actions for Every User

Jump understands that every role within an organization is different. To keep actions engaging and actionable for all users, we introduced the Role Personalisation tool. This tool tailors the user experience, ensuring that individuals receive actions pertinent to their specific job.

Impact Data: Performance Management Dashboard

Jump’s Performance Management Dashboard now includes an Impact Data feature. Admin users can gain insights into how their employees’ actions relate to topics such as greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable development goals, and custom sustainability themes. This data helps organizations track and understand their sustainability progress.

Jump’s impact in 2023 demonstrates our commitment to empowering sustainable behaviour change. Through our Behaviour Change Model, we have successfully motivated thousands of individuals to take action towards a more sustainable future. With our bespoke programmes, we have tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of various organizations.

By providing innovative features like the carbon calculator, smart integrations, activity feed, and role personalization, Jump has made sustainable actions more accessible, engaging, and impactful. As we continue to inspire, unite, and empower individuals and organizations, Jump is leading the way in creating a better and more sustainable world.
