Engagement Insights
The 2024 Sustainability Engagement Trends Report provides an in-depth analysis of employee engagement with sustainability initiatives. Based on responses from over 1,500 UK workers, the report highlights a key issue: while 82% of employees value working for an organisation that prioritises sustainability, only 28% feel informed about their company’s sustainability strategy.
This disconnect suggests a strong opportunity for organisations to improve sustainability engagement by better communicating goals and providing the necessary tools to empower employees. While interest in sustainability is high, key barriers such as lack of resources and guidance prevent meaningful employee engagement. The survey shows that 86% of respondents believe more support would help them integrate sustainability into their roles, while 80% said rewards and recognition would encourage them to contribute more.
The report also explores how incentives and peer influence can strengthen sustainability engagement by creating a culture where sustainable behaviours are both recognised and rewarded.
