Jump Insight Series

The Insight Series is a webinar series where we bring expertise and discussion to some of the most pressing topics on the sustainability agenda.

Our first Insight Series webinar of 2021 was on the topic of Health, Wellbeing and Our Environment. We were joined by an expert panel of speakers to discuss why wellbeing is so integral to sustainability.

Read on for some exciting announcements that came out of our latest session and then how the Insight Series can motivate your people to take action.

Our January Insight Series webinar

Our first webinar of 2021 was on the topic of Health, Wellbeing and Our Environment.

We were delighted to be joined by:

We learnt about the environmental impact of a vegan diet with Toni and why Veganuary continues to see success beyond the month of January. Amy shared an insight into the amazing community work that GoodGym does and how they have adapted during the pandemic. Lizzie shared experiences with nature and how this connection can boost our mental wellbeing, even whilst spending more time at home.

Our Pledge for the Planet campaign has seen almost 2,000 Jump members making a New Year’s resolution with sustainability and wellbeing in mind in January. With members making pledges such as committing to a vegan diet, exercising more or exploring their local area.

Highlights from our Panel Discussion

Here are some of the highlights from our panel discussion with our expert speakers:

  • Veganuary had over 1.5 million participants in 2021
  • After trying a vegan diet for one month, 50% of people found an improvement in their mood and 52% saw an improvement in their energy levels
  • Over 43% of webinar participants said that fitness was part of their New Year’s resolution
  • Almost half of London is made up of parks, rivers and bodies of water

Toni Vernelli

“Perfectionism is the evil of all good… we need lots of people doing many small actions to make the biggest difference”

This is an attitude we can all adopt on our sustainability journey.

Our brilliant speakers have given us all lots to think about and we’ve put together some useful links for you to take away:

Our speakers’ top tips for wellbeing

We then finished our session by asking our speakers to share their top tip for wellbeing in 2021.

  • Toni: be kind
  • Amy: do one thing today for yourself
  • Lizzie: ground yourself in nature – anything from forest bathing, to 10 minutes looking out of your window

How can the Insight Series motivate my people?

The purpose of the Insight Series is to engage your people in the biggest sustainability topics whilst empowering them to act.

Here at Jump, we motivate people to complete small actions that add up to make a big difference. The climate agenda can often be overwhelming, however by breaking it down into bitesize, practical actions, we empower people to play their part.

We host bimonthly webinars for our Jump programme members and we invite three expert speakers to help us gain a better understanding of these topics. So far, we’ve covered topics including biodiversity, travel, food and fashion.

Through a short presentation, our speakers encourage our members to think critically. They can explore these ideas further in our Panel Discussion and ask questions in our Q&A. Through polls, videos and interactive elements, we make the Insight Series as engaging as possible for your people.

Members of our Jump programmes can also earn Green Points for registering and attending each webinar. After the webinar there is also a short quiz to test participant’s knowledge of some of the topics covered in the session. Anyone who completes all six webinars in the series as well as each quiz receives their own digital Insight Series e-certificate.

Our next session

We are excited to be hosting our next session in March. This time our focus will be on air quality, an ever-increasing challenge amidst the climate emergency.
