Jump campaign sees 64,838 random acts of kindness performed all over the UK

Jump members record an amazing 64,838 random acts of kindness in a campaign that kept them looking on the brighter side of life.

The campaign

We ran a campaign in celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Day on 17th February 2022. The campaign aimed to see how many random acts of kindness our users could receive and give. A fantastic 64,838 kind acts were recorded by those using Jump programmes and The Net Zero Challenge programme. The residents of St Helens saw the largest amount of kind acts with 28,252 performed on their streets. Meanwhile, Bexley came in second place with 10,967 acts of kindness performed throughout the borough!

Our members’ Random Acts of Kindness

Below we list some of our favourite Random Acts of Kindness experienced and given out by our members. We hope they brighten up your day as they did ours!

“Drinks machine was rejecting my card, gave up trying and walked away. A member of the shop floor had seen and bought the drink I was after and brought it to the office.” – Kirsty G from ASM.

“I saw a homeless person. He looked very cold. I bought him a sandwich and a hot drink. The next day I took him some blankets and spoke to a homeless shelter on his behalf.” – Jane B from St Helens.

“A friend called me out of the blue to find out how I was” – Anthony P from Bexley.

“I volunteered at the local food bank, sorting through donations. It was great to work with others and share tea and biscuits afterwards.” – Ninette H from Durham University.

“I received an out of the blue thank you and compliment from a customer at work, thanking me for helping them and for being ’a ray of sunshine’ every time they came in. They told me I was excellent at my job and to ‘keep up the good work!’” – Sophie T from Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.

“My nephew drew me a special picture because his dad told him I was feeling sad last week – amazing how that cheers you up.” – Beth S from Bournemouth University.

What a positive way to start 2022! We know our members will continue to give and receive random acts of kindness throughout the year and beyond, as they know lots of small acts add up to a big difference.
