Our latest Awareness to Action Live Podcast dives into the key trends shaping 2025 in sustainability. Team Jump CEO Josh Cleall is joined by Matt Prescott of Iken Associates. He is a long-time sustainability expert and advisor, who helps us unpack what’s driving progress—and where we need to go next.
Matt Prescott has worked in environmental sustainability since 2000. He began with a research role at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) focused on the built environment. Subsequently, he went on to lead climate programmes at a major think tank. Moreover, he delivered corporate sustainability projects worldwide, and spent eight years in a corporate role as head of carbon strategy. Today, Matt works with Iken Associates, a consultancy that’s been supporting UK and global organisations since 2001 to deliver stronger environmental, health, and sustainability outcomes.
At Iken, Matt helps organisations develop and implement sustainability strategies. Furthermore, he assesses climate and nature-related risk, navigates environmental compliance, and builds partnerships with stakeholders. Their approach combines rigorous reporting with innovative facilitation—often delivered outdoors through their i.o. – inside out programme.
Josh and Matt talk 2025 in Sustainability
From their early work curating sustainable rewards to today’s behaviour-change platforms, Josh and Matt explore the evolution of engagement strategies that empower people to take climate action. Reflecting on 2025 in sustainability, they highlight a growing shift towards local action, community resilience, and biodiversity.
During their chat, they discussed:
- Why 2025 in sustainability marks a return to “think global, act local.”
- The growing corporate focus on nature-related risk and frameworks like the TNFD.
- The rise of co-beneficial behaviours that support climate goals and personal wellbeing.
Finally, Matt looks ahead to 2026, with his one recommendation for climate activists: adopt a more sustainable diet. It’s a change that benefits the climate, supports personal wellbeing, and reduces waste. These are key outcomes we champion across our engagement programmes.
