Hampshire County Council - Hampshire Kitchen Heroes
Hampshire County Council commissioned Team Jump to build their Hampshire Kitchen Heroes programme to teach residents how to be more efficient with their food preparation. The goal was to help residents save money on food, while reducing food waste in the council, ultimately saving the council money too.

An all-in-one app for all food waste initiatives, tracking impact and engagement data.
Mobile App
The programme comes with a mobile app, which allows members to log actions on the go.
Leaderboard & Activity Feed
Hampshire use the leaderboard and activity feed to show social proof and build a community around reducing food waste.
Impact Dashboard
Since May 2026, members have been able to see the impact of their actions in terms of CO2 avoided, kg of waste avoided and money saved.

Hampshire Kitchen Heroes has food waste specific activities, which are updated seasonally, such as these ‘Summer Specials’
Programme Management Dashboard
Sustainability Managers can view the impact of their programme in relation to sustainable development goals.
Rewards
Hampshire provide area specific rewards that support their local economy, like trips to attractions in Hampshire such as Manor Farm and Staunton Farm.
Hampshire Kitchen Heroes has been supported by the County Council since its launch in 2022 to encourage and incentivise residents to take simple actions which reduce the amount of food waste they generate. These actions also save residents money on their food bills and reduce the carbon emissions associated with food waste.”
