Team Jump’s university clients fill the ranks of the Green Gown Awards Shortlist
The Green Gown Awards Finalists have just been announced on their website and among them are a number of Team Jump clients. These are the universities leading the charge in sustainability, showing how students and staff can integrate sustainability into everyday life. Team Jump is proud to partner with several finalists, powering student engagement through its award-winning, gamified programmes.
What Are the Green Gown Awards?
The Green Gown Awards celebrate the exceptional sustainability efforts of universities and colleges around the world. Established to highlight initiatives that reduce environmental impact, improve community wellbeing, and embed sustainability into education, these awards recognise the people and projects driving meaningful change.
Which Team Jump Clients are Green Gown Awards Finalists in 2025?
Durham University
Benefitting Society – Enhancing Biodiversity for All Our Communities
Durham University has been named as a finalist for two awards this year. The first is ‘Benefitting Society’, which is all about getting the wider community involved in their sustainable initiatives. Durham is doing this by boosting biodiversity across local areas, creating accessible green spaces for locals. They’re also motivating staff and students to get out in nature and appreciate these spaces using the My Greenspace app by Team Jump.
Student Engagement – Durham Greenspace Movement
Durham is also nominated for the Student Engagement award. The university’s Energy and Sustainability Team lead the Durham Greenspace Movement, tackling climate challenges with the help of student champions. Using Team Jump’s platform, members track sustainable actions, earn points, and compete to earn a monthly prize voucher. Durham’s commitment to peer-to-peer engagement highlights how universities can build sustainability from the ground up.
University of Huddersfield
Benefitting Society – WELL Building Standard Initiative
The University of Huddersfield is also in the running for the benefitting society award. They’re aligning student wellbeing with sustainability through the WELL Building Standard initiative. In addition, students can use the Huddersfield Green Rewards platform to log eco-friendly actions such as green commuting, mindful eating, and energy-saving activities. This is part of their mission to boost student wellbeing through climate action and through active transport, and they’re not the only ones doing that on this list.
University of Warwick
Campus Health, Food and Drink – Mindful Food for Thriving Minds
Warwick Food Group is a community that is empowering students to make sustainable food choices. They’re working to move the food offering on campus towards more plant-based offerings, less single-use plastics and a menu that uses seasonal ingredients. Additionally, students can record their participation through the Warwick Green Rewards programme, reinforcing the connection between food, wellbeing, and environmental responsibility. They also took part in the Food Waste challenge: a seasonal campaign with time-limited actions where students could earn extra points for reducing their food waste.
Anglia Ruskin University (ARU)
Student Engagement – The Green Heron Award
ARU is embedding sustainability into its curriculum with the Green Heron Award, which encourages academics to embed sustainability into their curriculum. But that’s not the only way their rewarding students for sustainability. The ARUgreen platform also rewards students for embedding sustainability into their daily lives.
Nottingham Trent University (NTU)
Student Engagement – White Rose NTU Professional Student Wardrobe
NTU is tackling fast fashion with its White Rose Professional Student Wardrobe initiative. Through NTU Green Rewards, students have also taken part in the Team Jump Fashion Footprint Challenge. This was a seasonal campaign, with limited time challenges relating to sustainable fashion. Students could earn points for donating, swapping, or repurposing clothing, as part of the programme.
Sustainability Institution of the Year
NTU has also been shortlisted for Sustainability Institution of the Year, recognising its holistic approach to sustainability. No doubt, in part because of their ability to engage staff and students with sustainability through the Green Rewards programme.
